Are you caring for someone with an eating disorder, or a concerned family member? If so, b-eat, (formerly the Eating Disorders Association), would like to hear your views. Visit their website to complete the survey online. Closing date 25th Nov 2007.
It's eating disorders awareness week this week. On Monday, Susan Ringwood from the Eating Disorders Association, now renamed bEAT was interviewed on the Today programme about how to get help for eating problems and the 'size zero models' controversy. The interview includes a thoughtful discussion of the ambivalence people with anorexia nervosa can feel about recovery.
Woman's Hour on Wednesday also had an item about the size zero controversy.
The Eating Disorders Assocation is the UK's charity which supports people with eating disorders and their carers.
In response to the fact that more and more people are contacting the Eating Disorders Association via e-mail, the Self Help Network are now offering a new support by e-mail service.
If you want to find out more, you can request further details by e-mailing shnmail@edauk.com
Thanks to Andreas Karawautz for letting me know about the new Austrian Society on Eating Disorders (ASED or OEGES in German). Apparently, it is the only German speaking research society on eating disorders. The site also contains information in English, which is useful for English-speaking professionals looking for treatment resources.
I've also added these details to my post on National and International Eating Disorders Organisations for Professionals.

Here's a list of national organisations I know about for professionals working with eating disorders. There are also a couple of international organisations. They offer a range of facilities and resources, including training, conferences, networking, email mailing lists and so on. I'd be interested to hear about other organisations in the many parts of the world which aren't currently covered. You can email me or leave a comment below.
Organisations aimed at people suffering from EDs and their carers are listed in a separate post.
