Hi there,
I am doing an article on assessment tools for eating disorders in children 6-12. Do you have any suggestions on where I might find information on locating such measures. I am mainly interested in self-report measures, although I am open to interview measures as well.
Thank you for your time.
Dear Kim
A useful reference might be Marc Neiderman's chapter in Lask and Bryant Waugh: Anorexia Nervosa and Related Disorders in Childhood. However, I don't think you will find many self-report measures which are useable by children below 12 due to reading difficulties. You might want to look at more general self-report measures which can be completed by parents. For example, the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire can be used to assess children as young as 3 years and is translated into a number of languages.
I hope this information is useful. Good luck with your review.
